Endeavour Group collaborated with Frank Rogers, a respected name in the construction industry, and Prima Group, a leading social housing provider to develop a comprehensive fire safety strategy for 3 Lyndhurst Road in Wallasey.

This three-storey masonry and timber building, designed as a supported living property for children, faced critical challenges. The initial design was not fit for purpose and impeding operations, preventing Frank Rogers from being able to deliver to their usual high standard. Frank Rogers quickly engaged with the Endeavour Group to review and support them on the project.

Following a detailed assessment, Endeavour devised a strategy focused on compliance, life safety, and practicality. The team implemented a simultaneous evacuation strategy supported by an L1 fire alarm system that adhered to BS 5839-1-2017 standards. Escape routes were upgraded with smoke control provisions, emergency lighting and signage, while compartmentation measures provided 60 minutes of fire resistance through reinforced walls and floors.

Additional fire-stopping measures were introduced to prevent the spread of flames and smoke through cavities and service penetrations. Recommendations for non-combustible materials in future external works were also made to enhance long-term safety.

Provisions to support firefighting operations included clear access routes, strategically placed hydrants, and a ground-floor fire alarm panel to assist emergency services. This approach not only ensures immediate safety but also provides Prima Group with a robust framework for managing fire safety over time.
