Overview

This qualification is aligned with the BS 8674 Built Environment framework, which sets the standard for competence in fire risk assessment. It is accredited by ProQual and regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).

The course is flexible and delivered through a range of assessment methods, with no mandatory classroom sessions. You will complete fire risk assessments, write reports, and provide evidence of your decision-making and understanding of relevant policies and guidance.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal academic requirements for this qualification. However, through our internal assessment process, you must demonstrate that you have the necessary experience, skills and knowledge to succeed. Candidates must have access to medium-risk buildings to conduct fire risk assessments.

Principles of the Intermediate Fire Risk Assessment:
This unit covers legislation, principles, control measures and knowledge development for fire risk assessment in medium-risk buildings.
Practice of the Intermediate Fire Risk Assessment:
This unit focuses on preparing for and conducting fire risk assessments, communicating with stakeholders and demonstrating professional behaviour.

Assessment

Assessment is carried out via an online portfolio, simplifying the process with our eLearning platform. You can submit your evidence electronically, making tracking and completing your assignments easy.
