Overview
This QA qualification is designed to provide Trainee Internal Quality Assurers (IQAs) with the knowledge, understanding and skills to effectively quality assure vocational based qualifications. It is a knowledge and practical based qualification that requires Trainee IQAs to have access to assessors assessing vocational learners/qualifications in order to generate the evidence required to complete this qualification.
Trainee IQAs might include individuals who currently work in a teaching/training and/or assessing capacity wanting to develop their knowledge and skills relating to the internal quality assurance of vocational based qualifications.
Entry Requirements
- Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment, or
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, or
- A1 Assess candidate performance using a range of methods, or
- D32 Assess candidate performance and D33 Assess candidate using different sources of evidence.
You will need to have a professional qualification and/or have demonstrated occupational competence acceptable to your internal quality assurer.
You need to be part of an assessment team and have access to a minimum of two learners who are assessors working on a vocational programme. You need to attend standardisation meetings and generally comply with both internal and external quality assurance procedures.

Assessment
Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices consists of one theory unit which assesses a candidate’s knowledge of the principles and practices of internally assessing the quality of assessment and one practical unit which assesses a learner assuring the internal quality of assessment.
Duration
This course can be complete within 12 weeks. As the course is completed online there are no deadlines for assignments. Learners complete assignments at their own pace.
