Overview

This qualification develops advanced skills for carrying out and managing fire risk assessments in complex buildings. It enables professionals to identify hazards, evaluate risks and implement suitable control measures to meet the requirements of the Fire Safety Order 2005 and Fire Safety Act 2021.

It provides the competence to manage active and passive fire protection, assess means of escape, and prepare defensible reports across a wide range of property types.

Assessment and certification

Assessment is evidence-based and completed in the workplace through written reports, observation, discussion and supporting documentation.

On successful completion, candidates receive the ProQual Level 5 Diploma in Fire Safety and Risk Management, confirming high-level competence to lead and manage fire safety in complex or high-risk environments.
