Overview
The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Health and Safety Practice is a recognised and fully-accredited qualification. This qualification is designed for learners who are responsible for health & safety in their workplace. Assessors will assess the delegates by distance learning workplace assessment throughout the process.
The course ensures that each candidate is able to plan, detail and implement health and safety policies for each level of the business, taking into account industry-specific legislation.
Each successful candidate will be able to adapt their qualification for the business in which they are working; whether that is hospitality, healthcare, logistics, construction or wholesale and retail.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements however learners must be over the age of 19. This qualification is ideal for those who have achieved the NVQ health and safety Level 3 or NEBOSH General Certificate.
However, you must demonstrate to us that you have the experience, skills, knowledge and capacity to achieve this qualification through our internal assessment process.
This is assessed by completion of our pre-registration questionnaire.

Mandatory Units:
1 Promote a positive health and safety culture
2 Develop and implement the health and safety policy
3 Develop and implement effective communication systems for health and safety information
4 Develop and maintain individual and organisational competence in health and safety matters
5 Identify, assess and control health and safety risks
6 Develop and implement proactive monitoring systems for health and safety
7 Develop and implement reactive monitoring systems for health and safety
8 Develop and implement health and safety emergency response systems and procedures
9 Develop and implement health and safety reviews system
10 Maintain knowledge of improvements to influence health and safety practice
Assessment
Assessment for the NVQ Level 6 Health and Safety Diploma is by production of a personal portfolio demonstrating understanding and application of the standards at this level.
This is greatly simplified by our eLearning platform, through which evidence can be electronically submitted.
Duration
The timescale between your initial induction for the course and completion varies.
However, 8-12 months is a realistic time – although this can be longer or even shorter, depending on the candidate’s ability and availability. However, we offer full 24 months support.
